SHAMCEY SUPSUP - Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner-Up
Shamcey Supsup, a native from General Santos City joined Binibining Pilipinas 2011 and won the Binibining Pilipinas-Universe title during the coronation night held at the Araneta Coliseum on April 10, 2011. This victory entitled her to represent the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2011 pageant held in Sao Paolo, Brazil, on September 12, 2011 in which she was declared third runner-up
During the question-and-answer portion, judge Vivica A. Fox asked Supsup, "Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person you love? Why or why not?" Supsup answered: "If I would have to change my religious beliefs, I would not marry the person that I love. Because the first person that I love is God, who created me. I have my faith and my principles, and this is what makes me who I am. If the person loves me, he'll love my God too." The Filipina beauty was also an early favorite in the competition. Supsup received the second highest fan votes for the swimsuit and evening gown competitions. She was also voted as the number one fan favorite online.
Supsup graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines Diliman campus with a degree in Architecture and topped the board examination last July 2009.
GWENDOLYN RUAIS - Miss World 2011 1st Runner-Up
Ms. Philippines’ Gwendolyn Ruais of the 2011 Miss World won First runner-up in the 2011 Miss World beauty pageant in a star-studded event held at London's Earls Court in London last November 6, 2011. The 5’11” Filipino-French from Muntinlupa is the first ever Miss World Philippines 2011 winner since Ruffa Gutierrez won second Princess in 1993. Gwendolyn is a French-Filipino model, who earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management last year and she said that she joined the pageant for her country. Miss World beauty pageant, dubbed “Beauty with a Purpose” aims to raise awareness and funds for charities around the world.
CZARINA GATBONTON - Miss Humanity International 2011 2nd Runner-Up
Former Binibining Pilipinas World 2010 beauty queen, Czarina Gatbonton was hailed 2nd Runner-Up at the recently held first pageant of Miss Humanity International 2011 in Barbados. Czarina Gatbonton who competed in the Miss World 2010 pageant in China was not able to place but this time around she did place at the Miss Humanity International 2011, a pageant which focuses on humanitarian missions worldwide. Gatbonton, the lone Asian delegate in the lineup, was automatically bestowed with the title “Humanitarian Queen of Asia-Pacific.” At the maiden edition of Miss Humanity International, held in Bridgetown, Barbados, last October 22, the 20-year-old hotel and restaurant management sophomore at the Bulacan State University redeemed herself by winning the Best in Talent special award—for doing a mother and child sketch in just five minutes using pencil and charcoal during the preliminaries—and finished second runner-up overall.
DIANNE NECIO - Miss International 2011 People's Choice Winner
Bb. Binibining Pilipinas-International 2011 Dianne Necio won the People’s Choice Award after getting the highest number of online votes for the Miss International 2011 beauty pageant. As noted at MissInter.com, Dianne Necio got 354,237 votes and is automatically included in the list of semi-finalists as based on the rules of Miss International. Necio, 19, who stands 5″6′ is currently taking up Nursing, was crowned Ms. Philippines-International 2011 last April 10. Among her talents include baton twirling and playing the piano. The Miss International 2011 beauty pageant was held at Sichuan Opera Theatre in Chengdu, China last November 6, 2011.
The Philippines has produced many international beauty queens, including one Miss America, four Miss International and two Miss Universe title winners.
