Mary the Immaculate

     The Immaculate Conception of Mary is a dogma of the Roman Catholic Church, according to which the Virgin Mary was conceived without any stain of original sin.
     The proclaimed Roman Catholic dogma states "that the most Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instance of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege granted by Almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the human race, was preserved free from all stain of original sin".Being always free from original sin, she was from the start filled with the sanctifying grace that would normally come with baptism after birth.
    The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is a reminder of our duty as Christians to always follow the will of God. We may not be free from sin like Mary but we can emulate her as our model of obedience to the will of God. Her entire life was lived always in constant communion with the Lord, making her a genuine disciple of Jesus, her Son.
  The Immaculate Conception is the principal patroness of the Philippines. As Filipino Christians, let us thank her for showing us an example of purity, kindness, and submission to the will of God. Let us ask for her intercession to continue to guide us in our earthly pilgrimage so that we may also be filled with grace and God’s blessings like her.

Memorare, O piissima Virgo Maria,
non esse auditum a saeculo, quemquam ad tua currentem praesidia,
tua implorantem auxilia, tua petentem suffragia,
esse derelictum.
Ego tali animatus confidentia,
ad te, Virgo Virginum, Mater, curro,
ad te venio, coram te gemens peccator assisto.
Noli, Mater Verbi,
verba mea despicere;
sed audi propitia et exaudi.
Amen.
