It's More Fun in Bohol

PRIME TOURIST DESTINATIONS:

Chocolate Hills – it consists of 1,260 hills spread all over an area of more than 50 square kilometers. These cone shaped hills are made up of limestone covered in green grass that turns brown during the dry season, hence the name Chocolate hills. It is the most famous tourist attraction in Bohol and prime tourist destination in the Philippines.

Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, Baclayon - it is considered to be one of the oldest stone churches in the country. Next to the church is an old convent which houses a small museum with century old religious relics and artifacts.

Loboc River Cruise – the cruise starts from the Loay Bridge and ends near the Busay Falls. Floating restaurants offering Filipino cuisine are available for those who want to eat while cruising. Near the end of the trip, guests are treated to rondalla music by a local group under a floating cottage.

Our Lady of Assumption Church, Dauis – is another beautiful church in Bohol. The church is built in a mixture of styles influenced by Byzantine and Romanesque architecture. There is a well inside the church in which the water is said to be miraculous. So don’t forget to bring a bottle and take some water if you plan to visit there.

Hinagdanan Cave – located in the island of Panglao, the cave is about 100 meters long of beautiful rock formations. It is a naturally lighted cavern with deep lagoon and many large stalactites and stalagmites.

EAT Danao – Extreme/Eco/Educational Adventure in Danao is an eco adventure park. If you want an adrenaline rush, then this is the right place for you. You can try their suislide (zipline), sky ride (cable car) or their famous the plunge (bungee jumping). If you want to be at one with nature, they also offer activities like caving, river kayaking and tubing and rapelling.

Blood Compact Shrine – located in Barangay Bool, Tagbilaran, this particular site was built in honor of a very important event in Philippine history, the blood compact or Sandugo between Miguel Lopez de Legazpi and Rajah Sikatuna.

Alona Beach, Panglao – famous for its coral white sand, the beach stretches one and a half kilometers and ends in rocky cliffs at both sides. It is the most developed beach in Bohol and one of the top tourist destinations in the Philippines. With the swaying coconut palm trees and crystal clear water, it is truly a tropical paradise.

Mag-Aso Falls – located in Antequera, 20 km away from Tagbilaran. It is one of Bohol’s natural treasures. With a height of 25 feet, the twin falls is scenic with the backdrop of tall trees, wild plants including giant ferns and deep ravines.

Tarsier Conservation Area – consists of 167 hectares of forested area that has been set aside as tarsier sanctuary housing over a hundred of the world’s smallest primates. The sanctuary also features a tarsier trail where visitors can safely view the tarsiers.

Bilar Man-Made Forest – is a man-made mahogany forest stretching in a 2-km of densely planted mahogany trees located in the towns of Loboc and Bilar. Inside the forest, one can feel the sudden fall of temperature as the wind gets cooler.

Broas or Lady Fingers - a soft cookie, native from Baclayon, light and crisp,

Calamay - this must try treat from Jagna consists of glutinous rice, sugar, coconut milk and peanuts,
 enclosed in a coconut shell and sealed with a red paper strip

Torta - favorite snack in Bohol, it is soft, fluffy and moist cake
